Motel Crew
Every so often i hear some music that flips my lid. The Motel Crew have done just that. While not out yet, it’s worth the wait. Doug Surreal, who produced the mind-blowing Jack Spaar album has teamed up with Luke Sick from Sacred Hoop and Z-man to put a new spin on modern bay area rap. Post-hyphy? Dust-hop? I don’t know what to call it, but i’ll post a myspace link when they get they shit together. In the meantime, heres a logo i knocked out for them on the quickness. Good Sam indeed!
Tattooded
Heres a photo of a tat that some dude got of the Iron Sloth inside art that Matt Loomis’ and i did. Word em’ up dude!
Woo Hoo!
Heres a t-shirt design i did for Nathan and Kimmy’s Pony Attack clothing line. Available soon. While i’d love to take credit for the idea, it was Nathan that brought it to me and just needed it drawn. As a huge fan of both Seinfeld and Danzig, i’m very proud of it and can’t wait to sport one.
Get Familiar!
Heres a collabo poster from 2005 . When i get around to setting up the store, i may have a few of these to get rid of. Eddie K and Dj Quest are some of the best in the bay, get familiar!
Beard-danna
Heres a great pic i found in our camera from my son Cohen’s art show “dessert” at the First Amendment Gallery in Minneapolis, MN. Both the beard-danna and Black Osprey Dead Arts Society shirt are available from the fine folk at www.burlesquedesign.com
Volcomics
Ealier this summer, Mike Aho and company at Volcom were nice enough to let me contribute a couple comics to “Volcomics” issue 1. The finished product is awesome, with great work from talented folk like Todd Bratrud, Travis Millard, Mel Kadel, and M. Siebien.
Below is my original contribution, playing off my activity book schtick. It was a no go due to legal stipulations, but i can show you here!
Cot Damn!
While it’s well known that i hate writing about anyone but myself, i just saw the new Aaron Horkey poster for the Isis 10 year anniversary tour and had to share. It is hot to def, certified and notarized. Great work, rap doooood.
Monster Board
Cohen’s skateboard, as ridden by this dude, our new hero.
Thank you to Jpeg and Mat Held for the photo!
